We sponsored a child through World Vision last night. After hearing the stories of these children that live in poverty and AIDS-affected communities, we felt that a small monthly support was the least we could do to benefit a child and their family. His name is Maduhu. He is 7 and from Tanzania. Maduhu is an only child whose father struggles to provide for the family so he helps out at home by caring for the animals. We are excited to hear from him and hope that our support will help provide him with an education, basic health care, economic assistance as well as HIV prevention education based on biblical values.Friday, February 12, 2010

Yay! We sponsor Diego in Mexico. I actually had his picture as one of mine for someday back in January, but it got ousted as something else came along. It's fun to hear from them too. Super cute! Diego is only four years old. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it Lindsay! You guys ROCK!
ReplyDeleteI thought the 10 year old kids were the most intriguing to sponsor...It seems that they probably lost their original sponsor for one reason or another and its harder for them to find someone to take them on. We didnt hear this story until after we had already picked a 7 year old as our new member of the family. Kendall was gracious enough to pick an older child to make us feel better :)
