The Beach!

You wanna know what's so great about the beach in February? There's no snow!

It was so nice to get away, visit with David's side of the family, and see him run a marathon for a good cause.

Em loved the ocean, even though it was a little chilly that morning. In between picking "she sheaws" she looked up to cheer for the runners.

Oh wait I think I see him...

There he is!

GO DADDY!

Out of all the marathons David has run, (that number is 18 by the way) he said that this one was his favorite.

And who could blame him? The weather was fantastic. The terrain was flat. Quite a bit of the course was on the beach. And a lot of the proceeds went to fight breast cancer.

Oh yeah, and it was his fastest time ever! Three hours and 27 minutes!

Great job David! We'll cheer for you at the beach any day!

Meet My Shovel

I usually come up with some affectionately coined name for house hold items that I use often and are near and dear to me.

But all I can come up with for this shovel is Bane.

As in "bane of my existence."

For I do not feel any affection for this item, nor is it near and dear to me.

I only had enough steam to shovel half of the driveway.

Bring on the beach.

Winter Haiku

The snow falls again

I haven't seen grass in weeks

I dream of the pool

White stuff everywhere

I can barely see the trees

My shovel calls me

I'm going to post about snow until you are as tired of it as we are.

Well it snowed...again. We got 2-3 more inches this time. And oh yeah, it's supposed to snow again on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Ugh.

Yes, it's pretty. And we did have a lot of fun sledding on the slick hills we found yesterday.

But I'm tired of all the shoveling, more shoveling, and then shoveling again. I'm tired of having to wipe down the dogs every time they come in from outside because they are covered in snow. I'm tired of being stuck at home because the roads are icy hills of terror.

Today I'm going to enjoy the fact that I can see the sun and blue sky.
And then thank my lucky stars that we have good snow gear.
We may even build a snow man or two.

My guess would be that we got 4-5 inches from the recent storm. But it is hard to tell with the wind drifting it all over the place. Some places look like and inch, some a foot.
