"One day it started raining,

and it didn't quit for four months.
We been through every kind of rain there is.
Little bitty stingin' rain
...and big ol' fat rain.
Rain that flew in sideways.
And sometimes rain even seemed to come up from underneath.
Shoot, it even rained at night."
We are starting to travel in boats around here. It has been raining...hard...for days and days. David has been at work all night and all day handling flood waters. Em and I paddled out to take him a phone charger this afternoon and this is what we saw. I have never seen water come up from the drain in the middle of the street before.

Below is not a lake, or a river, or a creek. Normally it is dry here.
Lake Taneycomo doesn't usually resemble the Mississippi.
This is a parking lot that is also being used as a construction site for bridge restoration.
Today it is a boat launch.

I Decorate With Dust

There will be a day when my house will not be filled with workmen.

And I will rejoice.

And you will hear about it.

Meet Me In St. Louis

We spent a few days enjoying St. Louis last weekend.

Our hotel was right downtown with great views and a large indoor pool and hot tub on the 3rd floor. We spent a LOT of time on the 3rd floor. It was Emery's 2nd favorite part about St. Louis. Her favorite? The Zoo.

The Elephants to me more precise. They were spraying themselves with water to cool off and Em just got the biggest kick out of it.
Another big hit, was the choo choo train.

"All aboard! Choo Choo!"

We also learned that Giraffes are VERY tall. I've never been this close to one before on the ground.

Oh yeah, the whole reason we came to St. Louis was to cheer on Daddy for marathon #20.

3:37:17 with a massive case of poision ivy on his legs...not bad!

Where the heck have you been?

Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged. It has been hard to find a whole lot of inspiration these past few weeks. The weather has been cold and rainy...not so good for the herbs and flowers I planted mid-March, by the way. I have had a little more food aversion this pregnancy than I did with Emery which is keeping me from cooking since it normally hits in the afternoon. I have also had a little spout with allergies due to spring winds that feel like being in the center of a tornado. And since I've never been much of a complainer, I just haven't had a lot to write about. Who wants to read a blog full of complaints anyway? But not to worry, things are looking up. We had a gorgeous weekend and were able to spend most of the time outside. The afternoon sickness seams to be subsiding. There are a couple of vacations in our near future. And our new hardwood floors get laid next weekend. YaHoo!
